Our Kyoto adventure begins in Arashiyama where you will enjoy a rickshaw ride through the peaceful bamboo forest for a unique experience. We continue with a visit to the Golden Pavilion, a stunning building famous for its gold leaf covered exterior.You have the option to choose between a Maiko Dining experience or a Tea Ceremony experience while wearing a traditional kimono. As part of the Maiko Dining experience, you can enjoy a meal accompanied by the performance of a Maiko, an apprentice Geiko (known as Geisha in Kyoto). She will present traditional dances and engage in light conversation, providing a deeper cultural immersion during your visit. Lastly, we learn to make a cup of matcha via the traditional tea ceremony that Japanese culture is known for. Be sure to explore the charming Ninenzaka area where you can find traditional goods and sweets before heading back to the hotel. |
