The latest update about Japan's international tourist border
1. The Japanese government plans to increase the daily cap on foreign arrivals to 20,000 people in June for business people, foreign students, technical intern trainees, and others entering for non-tourism purposes.
2. Japan will accept small-scale tours for vaccinated tourists from the United States, Australia, Thailand, and Singapore later this month as a trial run toward full-scale foreign visitor reception in June. The participants will be dedicated groups from dedicated companies from each country; the total pax for this trial phase will be around 100 pax. In the event of a full border opening, the trial will allow the government to see if it can track people's movements and learn how to respond if a COVID-19 case is detected.
