Stay Connected with Free Wi-Fi during your Japan Tour

We understand the importance of being connected with your friends, family and the rest of the world here at Japan Deluxe Tours. Keeping that in mind, we provide complimentary WI-FI service on your tour bus. To take advantage of our wireless Internet service, internet/Wi-Fi ready cell phone, I-pad, or laptop are required.
We are aware that you cannot be by the tour bus at all times, so please consider these options as well for Wi-Fi and staying connected:

Hotels

Most hotels in Japan offer free Wi-Fi. However, some higher end Western style hotels charge for Wi-fi, while traditional Japanese inns do not provide Wi-Fi at all.

Free Wi-Fi

There are many options for Free Wi-Fi in Japan. The three largest options include: Free Wi-Fi Passport, Travel Japan Wi-Fi, and Japan Connected-free Wi-Fi. These three are some of the best choices for free Wi-Fi. There is also free Wi-Fi available at 7-11 and Lawson convenient stores, and at major JR stations across Tokyo.

Paid Wi-Fi

There are many options for Paid Wi-Fi in Japan, many more than free options. Some include: docomo Wi-Fi for visitor, Wi2, Softbank Wi-Fi Spot, Fon, and Skype WiFi. Not all of these options are inexpensive and should be researched carefully before you decide where to buy online service.

Personal Hotspots

Another option is buying or renting a small, battery powered device that uses Japan’s cellular network for internet access. Sometimes referred to as mifi, pocket Wi-Fi, etc., these devices allow for reliable internet while being relatively inexpensive. They are also quite convenient to pick up, available at airports or online. This would be a great option for a family traveling to Japan.

Rental Smartphones/SIM Cards

Great options for anyone who wants to have a cellphone with data while in Japan. Many companies in Japan provide services renting out cell phones or sim cards, providing unlimited data and also Wi-Fi tethering abilities.
Note, you can only use a rented SIM Card provided your phone is not locked to a specific company (SIM-Free)

Rental Wifi

An alternate choice to renting a sim card, a rental Wi-Fi is a great way to internet access, especially when travelling with a group. While a bit more expensive than renting a sim card, renting a pocket Wi-Fi allows you to connect multiple devices at once. A great option for families or group travelers, these Wi-Fi rentals are available for pick-up in hotels, airports, or even while you're in your home country.

Internet Cafes

Although sometimes difficult to find, Internet Cafés are an option for internet use if need be. Most cafés provide hourly rates or discounted rates for longer use to customers. However, please note that these internet cafés sometime require membership to use.
