Everything was so nice! I'm used to cheap USA hotels, so there were almost intimidating. Had a little booking problem in Kyoto due to my late sign up coinciding with the festival, but it was handled fast and easy, and the second hotel was still very nice.

The meals provided were very good, and more importantly, they were big - I'm not so picky an eater, but I was able to choose what I liked and avoided what I was uncomfortable with while still getting enough to stay full.

Hiroko was absolutely amazing. Kind, patient, and upbeat. She was constantly looking out for us and went out of her way to help me find a stampbook and afterwards to collect those stamps. She's a joy to be around and definitely one of two reasons I had such a good time.

We got to see so many places, and got all these background details and fun fact from Hiroko - going on my own I never would've gotten that info. Our stops were fast, but we covered lots of ground and there isn't a single place I disliked or found boring.
