Multi-Language Call Center for Tourists in Japan

As another way to help international visitors to Japan enjoy the innovative products and experiences the country has to offer, the National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan is proud to present the Consumer Hotline for Tourists. This special hotline is designed to provide telephone consultations in case visitors experience consumer issues while in the country. This hotline is meant to help travelers who cannot speak Japanese with issues involving stores, restaurants, bars, transportation, or lodging during their stay in Japan. Available Monday through Friday from 10AM to 4PM, the consumer hotline offers assistance in English, Chinese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, and Japanese. Please note, the hotline is intended for consumer issues only, the hotline will not able able to provide tourist information or answer questions about lost items, accidents, or medical issues. Some cases for the use of the hotline include assistance when a product was purchased as broken, up-charges on hotels or restaurants, reservation issues at hotels, etc.

To contact the hotline, just dial 03-5449-0906 and be sure to request for your language. In addition to being closed on Weekends, the hotline is not available on national holidays and Dec. 29 - Jan. 3.
