Japan's and Kyoto's Finest Traditional Arts & Crafts

The Kyoto Handicraft Center was established in 1967 in the Highashiyama/Ozaki area of Kyoto. Not only do they feature traditional craft-works of Kyoto, but also the traditional crafts unique to Japan. This popular handicraft center brings in fans of Japanese traditional crafts such as Kimono, Yukata and folding hand fan. Guest can purchase various crafts at the center, including: Pottery, Nanbu Ironware, Kimono and Yukata, Kanazawa Gold Leaf, Wood parquetry, Lacquer-ware, pottery and boxes, Katazome Washi paper and goods, Damascene, Ornamental Swords, and Japanese Dolls to name a few. There are also offer workshops to learn:

After your workshop, be sure to relax at one of the dining areas onsite. Enjoy a buffet with a wide selection of Kyoto-style dishes, Japanese Washoku, and Western-style foods.
