Ozu Washi is a Traditional Japanese Paper store, established in 1653 in the Nihombashi area of Tokyo. The store carries everything from high-grade traditional Japanese Paper (Washi) to products used by artists all over Japan. The store has papers suited for calligraphy (Shodo), Japanese-style paintings (Nihon-ga), Sumi art (Suiboku-ga), Buddhist paintings, block print, paper art, origami, and more. In addition to producing high quality paper for artists and craftsmen, Ozu Washi also offers craft restoration services. After you get all your shopping done, Japan Deluxe Tours recommends visiting the Ozu Washi Gallery to see incredible works of calligraphy and paintings. There's also a small museum on the history of Ozu Washi and the Ozu Washi Shoran which displays various works of Washi and Japanese Washi Art produced around the country. The Shoran has flowers, clothes, and dolls all made from Washi, in addition to other paper-based works like Kinkarakami (gold-leafed paper) on display.
