Shiga Yumekyobashi Castle Road | Road from the Edo Period

Yumekyobashi Castle Road is a road reproducing the streetscape of the Edo period yet with a mix of modern aspects. Yumekyobashi Castle Road starts at the Kyobashi Bridge over the middle moat of Hikone Castle. The street is lined with shops that have been designed to look like town houses from the Edo period. The mix of the old town look and the new modern stores give the area its nickname "Old New Town". Yumekyobashi Castle Road is a great street to stroll down for a great variety of souvenir shops, boutiques, traditional Japanese sweets, restaurants, and more.
