Fukushima Goshiki-numa

Goshiki-numa is a collection of five lakes located at the base of Mt. Bandai in Fukushima. The five lakes were created as a result of volcanic eruptions which deposited unique minerals in each of the lakes, changing the color of the lakes into unique shades of greenish, whitish, and even reddish blues. A 4 km walking trail, Goshikinuma Walk, takes visitors along the different lakes. The walking trail takes about an hour to complete but takes you through forests and flowers along the way. The unique beauty of the cobalt blue, greenish and reddish lakes will be worth the walk.
