Fuji Safari Park in Shizuoka is one of the most well known safari animal parks in Japan. The park is divided into two areas: Safari Zone and Fureai Zone. The Safari Zone can be accessed in either your own car, the Jungle Bus, or the Safari Navigation Car. Depending on the option you choose, there are some limitations and rules you must follow but with the Jungle Bus option you will be taken through the Safari Zone by an attendant in a bus. The Jungle Bus option allows you to get close to the animals and even feed them through the wire netted windows of the bus. You will encounter bears, lions, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, and many more large animals in the Safari Zone.
In the Fureai Zone you can get much closer to the animals to feed and play with. The Fureai Zone is divided into two further sections: Fureai Bokujo and Doubutsu Mura. The Fureai Bokujo is a petting zoo where you can ride on ponies and interact with kangaroos. Doubutsu Mura is a walk through animal village where you will encounter hyenas, alpacas, hippos, wallaby, and more.
