Shukunegi | Rows of Houses of the Shipbuilders of the Edo Period

Shukunegi is a village home to sengokubune and shipbuilders. It was a hub of merchant shipping in the Edo period. Now, rows of houses in Shukunegi is registered to an important traditional building group preservation district of the country. Restored sengoku ship (large wooden freight ship) Hakusan Maru and part of private houses are open to the public. Please touch the history of Shukunegi.
