Shukunegi is a village home to sengokubune and shipbuilders. It was a hub of merchant shipping in the Edo period. Now, rows of houses in Shukunegi is registered to an important traditional building group preservation district of the country. Restored sengoku ship (large wooden freight ship) Hakusan Maru
