Yukata is an informal, unlined kimono made of cotton and originally worn at home. It is usually worn to the bath or in the summertime. The name "yukata" comes from the word "yu (bath)" and "katabira (under-clothing)." Today many people especially young people wear yukata at summer festivals, fireworks displays, at ryokans, and during the Bon Festival Dance.
During our Japan tours between Tokyo and Kyoto, we include a stay in a hot-spring hotel to enjoy an authentic Japanese experience. Instead of going down to the bath and leaving your clothes in the changing area, ryokan's and Japanese-style hotels provide Yukata for guests to use instead. Dress like a local and enjoy the relaxing amenities of our top-rated hotels in a Yukata. You can also purchase a Yukata if you like during your Japan tour as a memento of your trip.
Relax in comfort and style with a Yukata pajama set during any of our Japan Tour Packages between Tokyo & Kyoto, or while on one of our Southern Japan Tours.
