The Hiroshima Electric Railway, also known as Hiroden, is a Japanese transportation company in Hiroshima established June 18, 1910. The company operates streetcars (trams) and buses in and around Hiroshima Prefecture, and is known as the longest and most used streetcar network in Japan at 25.1 km (21.8 mi). Using the Hiroden network is a great way to tour all the must destinations in Hiroshima. The railway connects to many major attractions, including: the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park & A-Bomb Dome, Hiroshima Castle, and the port to Miyajima island. The Hiroshima Electric Railway accepts PASPY (smart card ticket system) for easy use and payments on their buses and trams.

The Hiroshima Electric Railway has 8 tram lines identified by color name. They include

  1. Orange - Hiroshima Station to Hiroshima Port
  2. Red - Hiroshima Station to Miyajima-guchi
  3. Blue - Nishi-Hiroshima Station to Hiroshima Port
  4. Green - Hiroshima Station to Hiroshima Port

  6. Dark Green - Yokogawa Station to Hiroden honsha-mae

The Hiroden company also employees two street cars which survived the Hiroshima atomic bombings. The cars were both restored and still run on the Hiroshima Railway network.
