Kappabashi, also known as the Kitchen Town, is a street in Tokyo between Ueno and Asakusa featuring shops ideal for restaurants and cooking. While it's not completely sure how Kappabashi got it's name, due to Kappa being a homophone for the mythical creature, the shops along Kappabashi use the Kappa as their mascot. You're bound to walk past friendly looking kappa from store to store while walking along the street. With over 170 shops and at nearly half a mile long, Kappabashi is Japan's largest shopping area dedicated to providing the best kitchen and cooking goods in the country.
