Located in the Nishi Chaya, Kanazawa, this small museum dedicated to early Edo-post WWII has a lot to offer. They display about 600 gorgeous collection of traditional dolls from all over Japan. People have used various crafting methods to created dolls and each region has unique features in Japan. It is culturally interesting and visually amazing craftmanship and the collection of dolls at the museum really shows the owner’s passion.
The exhibition of dolls is housed over a few floors in beautiful tatami mat rooms and organized by type and region. You will get freshy made green tea in a cup of your choice before the tour, and afterwards there is also an opportunity to try the doll painting.
