We begin our Japan tour exploring the sights of Tokyo. We will begin with a visit to Ueno Toshogu Shrine to enjoy the peony garden. Opened in April 1980 to celebrate the friendship between Japan and China, the peony garden is only open between April through mid-May. The peony flowers originate from China and are a popular symbol in art. Enjoy the tranquil environment or take a couple of photos of this wonderful garden. We will then head to lunch for Shabu Shabu, a Japanese-style dish where you cook meat and veggies in a hot-pot with dipping sauces.

In the afternoon, it's off to Nezu Shrine. This shrine is believed to have been built more than 1300 years ago and is famous for it's azalea garden. The garden features about 3,000 azalea plants of 100 varieties including rare breeds such as the Fuji-tsutsuji and Hanaguruma. After our time at the garden, it's off to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building for panoramic views of Tokyo's skyline from the observation deck. Bring your camera for a breathtaking shot of Tokyo and maybe you'll see Mt. Fuji if the sky is clear. Before returning to the hotel, we have some time to explore Shinjuku. Walk around and do some souvenir shopping, or grab a bite to eat in Kabukicho. We then return to the hotel.
