Begin your Hiroshima private tour with a meaningful visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, a symbol of resilience and global peace. Stroll through its serene grounds and view the iconic Atomic Bomb Dome (Genbaku Dome), a UNESCO World Heritage Site that stands as a poignant reminder of Hiroshima’s past and its ongoing message of peace. For those interested, you may also enter the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, which offers insight into the events of 1945 and the city’s journey of recovery. The museum is a place of quiet reflection and education, offering an optional yet powerful experience during your visit. In the afternoon, travel by ferry to Miyajima Island, one of Japan’s most scenic and spiritual destinations. Enjoy the sea breeze and picturesque views of the Seto Inland Sea before arriving at the island, where friendly deer and peaceful pathways await. Discover the majestic Itsukushima Shrine, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its striking floating torii gate. This centuries-old shrine appears to rise from the water during high tide, offering an unforgettable photo opportunity and a serene experience of traditional Shinto architecture. While on Miyajima, don’t miss the chance to try the region’s most beloved foods. Taste freshly prepared Hiroshima oysters, sweet Momiji Manju (maple leaf-shaped pastries), and the iconic Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, a layered savory pancake that’s both filling and flavorful. These local culinary specialties are a true highlight of the region.
