WA RASSE

The Nebuta Festival is one of the Tohoku Sandai Matsuri, the three largest festivals in the Tohoku region. The floats are decorated with enormous papier-mâché figures and for a full week they march through the streets in Aomori Prefecture’slargest festival. The parade itself takes place in early August, but you can always come and experience the wonders of Nebuta at the Nebuta Museum WA RASSE!

WA RASSE, which opened in January 2011, is a "dream space" where visitors can experience all aspects of Nebuta throughout the year. The Nebuta Museum and Nebuta Hall on the first floor is the main part of the facility, a vast space with an atrium that extends to the second floor, where large Nebuta floats that have actually been on display are on permanent display. Visitors can immerse themselves in the world of The Nebuta Festival as they are surrounded by actual Nebuta floats while shamisen, flutes, and Nebuta music plays in the background. You can view the entire exhibit, or you can take a closer look at it, which is not usually possible. The actual Nebuta operation is regularly shown on a large 400-inch screen behind the Nebuta. Experience the realism of the Aomori Nebuta Festival.

The Nebuta Museum on the second floor introduces the origins and history of the Nebuta Festival. Visitors can also learn about Nebuta production techniques and styles, as well as the changing themes of the festival. The history of the town, which has developed along with the Nebuta, is introduced through easy-to-understand videos and artwork.

We invite you to join Japan Deluxe Tours' ' Hokkaido & Tohoku Japan Tour and feel the power of the The Nebuta Festival!
