Furusawa Sake Brewery in Yamagata was founded in 1836 and is one of the oldest sake breweries in Japan. The brewery is best known for it's brand of Sawamasamune
sake in addition to other brews. In addition to operating as a brewery, Furusawa Sake Brewery also acts as a museum displaying equipment used for brewing sake. The exhibits at the museum explain the sake brewing process, and there is a sake sample area nearby for guests to enjoy Furusawa Brewery's best sake. The museum is also home to a soba noodle making class in case sake isn't for everybody.
