Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is one of the most globally celebrated anime and manga series, admired for its breathtaking animation, emotional storytelling, and iconic characters. From the Mugen Train to real-life wisteria landscapes, Demon Slayer offers countless opportunities for fans to explore Japan through the lens of their favorite series—perfect for Japan Deluxe Tours’ anime-focused itineraries.
Created by Koyoharu Gotouge, Demon Slayer has become a cultural phenomenon, breaking records in manga sales, film history, and anime popularity worldwide.
Demon Slayer is more than an anime—it is a deeply emotional journey of resilience and hope, resonating with fans across the world.
Demon Slayer attracts travelers who love beautifully crafted anime worlds, emotional depth, and uniquely Japanese storytelling rooted in tradition and folklore.
Universal Studios Japan launched an immersive Demon Slayer Mugen Train 4D attraction on September 17, 2021 (limited run until February 13, 2022). The ride brought fans directly into the Mugen Train story, featuring Tanjiro, Rengoku, Zenitsu, Inosuke, Nezuko, and Enmu. Visitors experienced the emotional and action-packed moments of the iconic arc through a dynamic 3D simulator system.
Beyond the ride, guests enjoyed the Demon Slayer Wisteria Restaurant, Nezuko’s Popcorn Stand, exclusive merchandise, a Demon Slayer-themed roller coaster, and a Taisho-era dining experience with life-sized statues of Giyu and Shinobu.
Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. Players can relive iconic battles such as the Tsuzumi Mansion arc and master breathing techniques in a beautifully crafted combat system.
Located in Tochigi Prefecture, Ashikaga Flower Park resembles the wisteria forest from Tanjiro’s Final Selection. In Demon Slayer, wisteria symbolizes protection against demons, and the real park showcases breathtaking wisteria tunnels between mid-April and mid-May.
Only 2 hours from Tokyo, it is a perfect anime pilgrimage stop during Japan Deluxe Tours’ anime itineraries.
Kawachi Fuji Wisteria Garden in Fukuoka is also famous, as the author of Demon Slayer is from Fukuoka.
Asakusa is one of Tokyo’s most iconic districts and is featured in Demon Slayer as the place where Tanjiro first meets Muzan Kibutsuji. The famous Kaminarimon Gate of Sensoji Temple does not appear in the anime because the story is set in the Taisho era, and the gate had burned down during that time.
Visit Asakusa during our anime tour and compare real-life Tokyo with Demon Slayer’s Taisho-era depiction.
In Fukushima Prefecture, the Ookawaso Hotel features architecture strikingly similar to the Infinity Castle. Its multi-layered interior, dramatic balconies, and evening Shamisen performances create an atmosphere reminiscent of Nakime’s haunting biwa scenes.
Although not an official model, many Demon Slayer fans visit Ookawaso to experience a surreal blend of Japanese luxury and anime-like visuals.
Demon Slayer continues to inspire fans around the world with its beauty, emotion, and heroic battles. Add Demon Slayer-themed stops to your Japan Deluxe Tours itinerary for an unforgettable anime journey through Japan.
*Ashikaga Flower Park, Kawachi Wisteria Garden, and Ookawaso Hotel are not official Demon Slayer model locations.
