Small Worlds Tokyo (JDT Recommends)

Updated

The One-Of-A-Kind Miniature Model Attraction Park

Small Worlds Tokyo takes miniature models to the next level as they recreate and reimagine cities and worlds, providing visitors with a different perspective on the world we know as it is. The Small Worlds exhibit consists of six different areas: Sailor Moon, Evangelion Cage, Evangelion Tokyo-III, Global Village, Space Center, and Kansai International Airport. Not only will you be able to view these worlds but also be a part of them literally as the exhibit offers residency rights for a 1:35 scale miniature model of yourself in an area of your choice.

A perfect way to leave your own personal mark in Tokyo, a visit to this one-of-a-kind exhibit is worth considering in addition to the many stops on any of our Anime tours and Tokyo Game Show Tours vacation series.

We will assist you with ticket arrangements as part of your free leisure day and help you make the most of your time in Japan.

A Closer Look Into the World of Sailor Moon

A Closer Look Into the World of Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon fans can relive their favorite memories from the iconic magical girl series as Small Worlds has recreated the Azabujuban district in Tokyo where the characters go about their day. Once night falls in Azabujuban and the full moon comes out, the girls transform into Sailor Warriors and battle against evil forces. Look for Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask meeting on the rooftop under the full moon! Additionally, they have also modeled Crystal Tokyo, a futuristic city set in the 30th century that is depicted in the series.

Evangelion has also been made miniature to scale, bringing perspective to fans of the series at how large the EVA robots truly are. The Cage introduces the hangar in which the EVA Unit 00, 01, and 02 are stored, maintained, and deployed in the case that an Angel appears. The moving model simulates the deployment of the EVA units, making for a realistic experience. In a separate miniature model, Tokyo-III has also been recreated to include many iconic locations featured in the anime such as Mt. Ashigara, the First Municipal Junior High School, and EVA-YA store to name a few.

Both models are immaculately detailed so as to truly give perspective to the size of the Evangelion world as well as small easter eggs for fans to look for. The most impressive is the size of the people in comparison to the EVA units, really giving visitors an idea of how massive and grand the robots are.

Recreate the Past & Create the Impossible

Recreate the Past & Create the Impossible

In addition to the anime-inspired models, Small Worlds Tokyo also has models for Kansai International Airport, a fantasy-themed Global Village, and the futuristic Space Center, all of which provide a unique look into a mix of real, fantasy, and futuristic world settings.

The Kansai Airport model does not skimp out on details and includes everything from the Arrival/Departure Terminal and flight information/announcements to boarding gates and baggage claim areas. You can even see the planes taxi, take off, and land throughout the 10 minute day cycles it goes through.

The expansive Global Village takes you all over the world in one model in tandem with a blend of both reality and fantasy as villages live in harmony with dragons. Experience the warm Mediterranean atmosphere, the whimsical and charming villages of rural Europe, the chilling Alps, and the hustle and bustle of a metropolitan city in Asia all in one.

The Space Center highlights the technological advancements of space travel of the past, present, and future. Witness the famous launch of the Saturn V of the 1970’s Apollo Program as well as futuristic space stations for a look into what future space travel may look like!
